Alongside esteemed clarinetists Dr. Marie Ross, Dean Newcomb and Lloyd Van’t Hoff, we are particularly delighted to be welcoming the legendary American clarinetist David Shifrin to Adelaide for this not to be missed occasion. This event is designed for clarinetists of all levels, offering a day full of workshops, masterclasses, and performances by renowned professionals. Whether you're a student, a seasoned musician, or a clarinet enthusiast, this day promises to enhance your skills and deepen your love for the clarinet.

Start the day with invigorating warm-ups and join the clarinet choir led by ECM Head of Woodwind, Lloyd Van’t Hoff.

10:30–11:00am: Morning Tea Break

11:00am–12:30pm: The Historically Informed Clarinet with Dr. Marie Ross

Delve into the history and techniques of the clarinet with Dr. Marie Ross, exploring how historical practices inform modern performance.

12:30pm–1:30pm: Lunch Break

1:30pm–3:00pm: Masterclass with David Shifrin

Gain insights and personalised instruction from the legendary clarinetist David Shifrin in this masterclass session.

3:00pm–3:30pm: Afternoon Tea Break

3:30pm–5:00pm: Masterclass with Dean Newcomb
